Outbreak of dysentery in country school
MANICARAGUA, Cuba - June 13 (Alaín

Press / www.cubanet.org) - A dysentery outbreak
in a country school here affected up to
70 students, it became known last Wednesday.
Authorities at the Tony Santiago school
blamed untreated river water as the likely
culprit.
The school houses hundreds of students
between the ages of 15 and 18.
Municipal health authorities ordered the
school closed, in spite of opposition by
Education Ministry officials.
