Ranchuelo pharmacies run out of asthma medications

RANCHUELO, Cuba, February 14 (Félix Reyes Gutiérrez, Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - When Ismary Pozo went looking for asthma medications for his daughter February 9, he quickly found out all three pharmacies in Ranchuelo had run out of them.

Pozo called pharmacies in the adjoining towns of Esperanza and San Juan de las Yeras, and found they were also out of stock.

"I'll have to buy the medicines in the black market, and pay whatever they ask, but my daughter needs it, especially in winter," said Pozo.

His six-year-old daughter suffers from asthma since birth.
