Dissidents slapped and threatened
HAVANA, December 7 (Leonel Alberto Pérez
Belette / www.cubanet.org) - Directors of
the Cuban Democratic Socialist Current were
threatened and hit while leaving the offices
of the dissident magazine Consenso.
Manuel Cuesta Morúa, president of
the dissident movement, said he and fellow
director Leonardo Calvo were leaving after
a courtesy visit when the incident occurred.
According to neighbors who witnessed the
incident, members of the block committee
repeatedly slapped Calvo, the shirt of Cuesta
Morúa and threatened them and Juan
Eugenio Leal García, owner of the
house which houses the magazine.
