Two European journalists, a Pole Anna
Bikont and a Swiss Nelly Norton were expelled
from Cuba after meeting with a leading figure
of the Communist island's political opposition.
The reporters were detained some 450 kilometers
southeast of Havana on Thursday, after their
meeting with Elizardo Sanchez of the Cuban
Commission of Human Rights and National
Reconciliation. Both entered Cuba on tourist
visas and not the journalist visas required
by the Cuban government to work on the island.
