HAVANA, Cuba, August 31 (Richard Roselló
/ www.cubanet.org) - A local storm hit the
southern Havana province town of Batabanó
12 days after hurricane Charley, leaving
behind damage but no casualties.
The storm, called unusual and severe by
residents, went through the municipality
August 24, demolishing three houses, damaging
the roof in about a dozen and knocking down
electric poles and fences.
Residents of Batabanó are still
trying to recover from the damage left behind
by hurricane Charley, which hit the city
with winds of 120 miles per hour.
