Shooting in the vicinity of primary school

HAVANA, cuba, November 1 (Ernesto Roque, UPECI / www.cubanet.org) - No one was hurt Thursday morning when six persons exchanged gunfire outside the Vicente Ponce primary school, in La Lisa.

The six are reportedly local outlaws and the shooting was a settling of accounts from a fight that had started the night before between two women. One man received a machete wound in that fight.

"Even after several days, the neighbors are afraid," said one local resident, "because the people involved are still at large. People in the area say they are afraid to mention the names of those they think are responsible for the shooting, for fear of reprisals."
