Cuban customs officials confiscate Celia Cruz hats

HAVANA, Cuba, September 1 (www.cubanet.org) - Travelers visiting Cuba from the United States are reporting that Cuban customs officials are systematically confiscating hats sporting the likeness of recently-deceased Cuban salsa star Celia Cruz.

One visitor said that as officials were confiscating one of these hats, he heard someone among the crowd yell Cruz' trademark "Azúcar!"

Other travelers have reported that officials are also confiscating shirts and other objects bearing the image of the U. S. flag.
