political prisoners on a hunger strike moved from
prison to unknown location

Ileana Danger Hardy, wife of the political prisoner
Juan Carlos Herrera Acosta and told her over the
telephone that at 4 o'clock in the morning, three
of the seven prisoners that had sent in recent
days a letter of demand to the Officer in Charge
at the "Boniatico" prison had been taken
away and that their whereabouts were unknown.
Danger Hardy pointed out to Lux Info Press correspondents
that at three o'clock in the afternoon she received
a phone call from a reliable source at Combinado
de Santiago, warning her that Manuel Vázquez
Portal, Nelson Aguiar Ramírez, and Juan
Carlos Herrera Acosta, her husband, had been taken
away from Boniatico at 4 in the morning.
Danger Hardy also pointed out that yesterday
she was contacted from the A-500 at Combinado
de Guantanamo and was told that they brought one
of the prisoners from Santiago de Cuba on Saturday,
August 30th but the identity was not known for
they came in the middle of the night and windows
of the Lada were very dark.
"On August 31st, the above mentioned seven
political prisoners began a hunger strike for
prison authorities refused to comply with demands
they requested in writing"- ratified Danger
Hardy.
Efforts in contacting relatives of Vazquez Portal
to inquire on the status of their visit failed.
