Residents complain about neighborhood pollution in Cuba

HAVANA, December 19 (www.cubanet.org) - A number of residents of the Playa municipality of Havana marched on the local government's headquarters last Wednesday to complain about the poor state of repair of sanitary drains in
the area.

Residents said they had complained repeatedly before, but that no action has been taken. "Waste waters flow down the street; the odor is constant and the situation presents an imminent health danger," said 68-year-old Josefina Alcides.
