Frometa, mother of the political prisoner Arbis Frometa Cuencas, denounces the
horrors that her son is being subjected to in the prison Kilo Cinco y Medio, in
Pinar del Río, where her son is only allowed to have breakfast and one
meal, under strict orders from penitentiary officials and the State Security.
According to the mother of the prisoner, he is underweight and is facing
serious health problems and at 35 is confronting a sanction of 76 years for
various political crimes.
Mrs. Aleida Frometa asks all human rights organizations, inside and outside
Cuba to condemn these practices, for in addition, her son is serving his
sentence in a prison 900 kilometers of his native province, far away from where
his relatives reside.
