NEW GERONA, 24 of May (Carlos Serpa Maceira, UPECI / www.cubanet.org) - The
first independent pharmacy in Isla de la Juventud, La Habana province, was
inaugurated this Thursday, May 23.
The pharmacy began its operations yesterday, delivering free of charge
medicine to all residents of this Cuban region, although it will make its
priority political prisoners, dissidents and their relatives.
"Many people have already solved their medicine needs to fight
cardiovascular sufferings, ulcer, bronchial asthma, allergy and
undernourishment, among other common afflictions in the Island of Youth "-
explained a source.
The drugstore is located at: Calle 30 #5107 entre 51 y 53, Nueva Gerona,
Isla de la Juventud.

Products come from donations by humanitarian Cuban exile groups living in
the United States.
