CAMAGÜEY, June 6 (Alejandro González Raga, ACP /
www.cubanet.org) - Two journalists belonging to the independent press agency ACP
were denied access to the computers at the popular Cyber Café in Camagüey
city May 24.
The journalists had contracted for 10 hours of usage, including Internet
access and e-mail service. Their money was refunded in full.
The Internet café, which is operated for the publics use by the
government news agency, Prensa Latina, had been closed for several days prior to
the incident because, said its administrators, the phone company had shut them
down for non-payment. After it reopened, the independent journalists were told
they could not use the service to send their dispatches abroad.
