HAVANA, May (www.cubanet.org) - The Communist Youth daily Juventud Rebelde
is looking to fill four vacancies and advertised to that effect May 15.
The vacancies are not for journalists, who, according to the Declaration of
Ethics of the Cuban Journalists Union, are "political and ideological
workers, educated in marxism-leninism and in the party line of the Communist
Party of Cuba."
The openings, all in the administrative side, are:
Economic Department Head, with a salary of 300 pesos a month. Must be a
university graduate in economics.
Technical Accountant, with a salary between 198 and 231 pesos a month. Must
be higher level graduate.
Office worker A, with a salary of 170.40 pesos a month. Must know
computation and filing.
Recepcionist, with a salary of 148.96 a month.
Government stores sell bread at 10 pesos a pound, chicken at 23 pesos a
pound, and rice, at 3.50 pesos a pound, just to cite three common examples.
