Hospital in Cuba might be turned into
health center for foreigners
HAVANA, March 15 (www.cubanet.org) - The
Miguel Enrique Hospital, built in the nineteenth
century, might be turned into a medical
center for foreigners in a move to bring
hard currency to Cuba, sources say.
At the time of the revolution in 1959,
the hospital had 25,000 members who received
medical treatment through as monthly payment
of 2.25 pesos.
The sources said that the hospital will
undergo renovations to be able to attend
to the needs of foreign patients. They said
some rooms would be kept for Cubans.
