Cuban political prisoners help common criminals who lack outside supporters

HAVANA, March 15 (www.cubanet.org) - Political prisoner Jorge Luis García Pérez has denounced the situation of fellow prisoners, mainly common criminals, who do not have family members who can bring them food, clothing and medicine.

García Pérez said these prisoners usually go barefoot and in dirty clothes because their monthly ration of soap doesn't last a month. He said they often suffer from medical problems for which they don't receive medicinal treatment.

García Pérez said that political prisoners like himself share their packages, brought by relatives, with those who don't receive any.
