Cuban travelers arrested for possession
of food products
HAVANA, Cuba, March 11 (Moisés
L. Rodríguez, Grupo Decoro / www.cubanet.org)
- At six o'clock in the morning March 10
about 10 travelers getting off the bus from
Pinar del Río were arrested by police
when a search of their luggage revealed
they were carrying cheese, fish, coffee
and cockroach poison, among other products.
The two police officers involved in the
operation later transported their prisoners
in small groups in a patrol car.
Typically these arrests result in fines
and confiscation of the products being transported.
