Motorboat draws fire from the shore in
Cuba
HAVANA, March 11 (www.cubanet.org) - A
white speedboat with two outboard motors
came within 1,000 yards of the coast off
Havana at noon March 3 before gunfire from
the shore drove it off, according to eye
witnesses.
The witnesses said the boat veered and
disappeared over the horizon after the shots
were fired. The shots drew a crowd of people
to the shore, they said.
There was speculation that the speedboat
had come to pick up people trying to flee
the island.
