CABAÑAS, August 15 (Moisés Rodríguez Valdés,
Grupo Decoro / www.cubanet.org) - Passengers in the eight-hour train ride
between Havana and Sancti Spíritus have had to make do without food or
water service for the last six months, said Blas Giraldo Reyes, a frequent
traveler.
The service was discontinued at the same time the frequency of service on
the line was reduced to alternate days.
Reyes also said that occasionally the train is commandeered to transport
military personnel, students, or just people that are being taken to a political
rally by the government.
"People then have to wait for the next train, or find other means of
traveling, which is unlikely these days," said Reyes.
