These penitentiaries
are nothing more than Cuban exploitation centers, divided in two groups,
those that respond to the Directions of Jails and those that respond to
the Popular Power.
The Castro repressive
system constantly violates the human rights of all the prisoners. Some
of these violations are:
- The creation by
penal authorities of organized gangs of highly dangerous inmates, to be
used for brutal beatings of other prisoners, especially political prisoners.
- Little food, spolied
most of the times.
- Continuous refusal
to provide medical attention.
- Lack of medicines
and articles of personal hygine.
- Denial of any correspondence
between inmates and relatives.
- Sexual harassment
of female relatives.
