Morón hospital short on lab supplies

MORON, Cuba - May 11 (Abel Escobar Ramírez / www.cubanet.org) - The microbiology lab at the Roberto Rodríguez Hospital in Morón, Ciego de Ávila province, is so short in reagents that it only performs emergency cultures.

The father of a young patient complained that his son has had throat surgery because the lab refuses to perform pre operative tests. The man said he asked when they tests might become possible and was told staff didn't know.

The man also said he was told he could choose to have his son operated without the tests.
