Two brothers released from prison after three years for insulting Fidel Castro

CIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba, March 18 (Antonio Femenía, Agencia Patria / www.cubanet.org) - Two human rights activists were released from prison this week after three years of imprisonment for insulting President Fidel Castro, public disorder and resisting arrest.

Brothers Antonio and Enrique García Morejón were arrested March 2, 2002, at the provincial hospital of Ciego de Avila where they were protesting injuries suffered to hospitalized independent journalist Jesús Alvarez Castillo in an incident with a police agent.

The brothers were released Monday from the Ceramica Roja prison in Camaguey province.
