- Gregoria Corrales Borges, 61 years old
and mother of the the political prisoner
Luis Campos Corrales announced she will
start a hunger strike next week, in front
of the prison, if the authorities at the
Aguica prison persist in retaining her son
in a punishment cell.
"They took him out of Gunajay and
they took him to Aguica in Matanzas where
they threw him in a punishment cell, treating
him worse than a street dog", stated
to Lux Info Press, Mrs. Corrales Borges
last February 28.
"If they don't take him out of that
cell I will settle outside and start a hunger
strike, even if I die", the elderly
woman affirmed.
"They snatched all of his belongings
and left him in a punishment cell as if
he was a murderer. He sleeps in a cement
bed with only one blanket. He is only allowed
to have a pair of shorts and three white
T-shirts", stated Inés Guerra
Ochoa of the Freedom, Love and Peace Party.
Even though we support her decision we
are very concerned for Gregoria's health",
added Ada Kaly Márquez Abascal, National
Coordinator in Functions of the Democratic
Party November 30 "Frank País
".
"She is a diabetic, who also suffers
from high blood pressure, outlying neuritis,
hernia diatal, infection in the kidneys,
has linfangitis in her left leg and recently
had eye surgery"- added Marquez Abascal.
The 38 years old political prisoner Luis
Campos Corrales was arrested in his home
on August 6, l994 and later sentenced to
25 years in prison for "supposed"

Last February 23 -without previous warning
-and without any know cause - Luis Campos
was transferred from the Guanajay prison
