Cuban independent journalist and her 16-year-old
daughter attacked
HAVANA, Jan. 26 (www.cubanet.org) - Independent
journalist María López says
she and her 16-year-old daughter, Idaima
Paz, were attacked Friday night when they
left a movie house in Old Havana.
"A white man about 30 years old attacked
me," she said. "I didn't see any
knife in his hands but he caused a deep
gash."
The wound required 12 stitches to close.
He daughter suffered a sprained right foot
and bruises when she tried to defend her
mother. The pair was taken to the Miguel
Enrique Hospital.

police station at Dragones and Zulueta.
