(AGI) - Rome, Italy, June, 12 - "What is happening in Cuba is
unbelievable. After arresting, and heavily sentencing 75 independent journalists
and oppositors, after sentencing to death three hijackers who didn't killed
anyone, now the regime is trying to change reality." This was said by
Marina Sereni, the head of the Foreign Office of the Democrats of the Left. "It
is right for the European Union to react to such serious episode - she went on -
asking for the release of the political prisoners." "The complete
agreement of all the member states is due to the repression from Cuba
government." "The demonstrations against the European Embassy and the
attacks to the European Union are the sign of nervousness and a further loss of
control from the regime. The Cuban government had better to think about the
reasons which pushed Europe to take such a stance against it." "As we
reaffirmed our request to release the prisoners. we believe also it would be a
mistake to suspend the cooperation projects with Cuba." (AGI) Special
