HAVANA, September 26 (Víctor Manuel Domínguez, Lux Info Press
/ www.cubanet.org) - The delegate of the Popular Power (local government) in
Managua, Arroyo Naranjo municipality, said he would level a squatters
settlement after the census was taken. The final day of data collection for the
census was September 17.
In the last three months, hundreds of families invaded a former
slaughterhouse and some land belonging to the Décima Caballería
military unit, building cardboard houses and settling in.
The measure would be justified under Law 217, which regulates migration
within the country.
