SANTA CLARA, October 4 (Omar Ruiz, Grupo Decoro / www.cubanet.org) - A
History professor was asked to resign from his post at a technological school in
Villa Clara province, after being told that people with ideas contrary to those
of the Cuban government could not work in any institution of the Ministry of
Education.
The professor, Alain Gómez Ramos, was also accused by school
authorities of trying to illegally leave the country and of not having signed
the recent proposal for a Constitutional amendment that declared Socialism "untouchable"
in Cuba.
Gómez refused to resign and was subsequently fired.
