FROM CUBA

It’s offal and it’s expensive, say residents

GÜINES, November 20 (José Izquierdo, Grupo Decoro / www.cubanet.org) Güines - Residents find little to be happy about the latest batch of beef products available for them to buy.

They say only bones, feet and innards were available, and at a price not commensurate with their purchasing power. Then, they say, the beef products were being sold in a store that has no refrigeration or the proper sanitary conditions. That problem stems from the fact that the store used to be the only photographic studio in town, or at least the only government photographic studio, which means now they must go to private studios for their portraits. Service there is more expensive, but at least, they say, the quality is better.
