HAVANA, November 18 (Reinaldo Cosano Alén / www.cubanet.org) - The
general secretary of the government sanctioned labor union, Pedro Ross, called
upon drivers of government vehicles to pick up passengers in order to mitigate
the effects of the transportation crisis in the island.
Ross called upon drivers to stop for "anyone with a need for
transportation to school, work, or a hospital... to guarantee at least a minimum
of public transportation." He mentioned as causes for his call "the
economic situation and particularly the lack of fuel."
