Political prisoners accuse officials of torture in the Boniato Prison

(GUANTÁNAMO, February 5) - Political prisoners Onni Barzaga Garrido, from the municipality Manuel Tamez in Guantánamo, and Michel Ayllon Guillén from Cardenas in Matanzas, both confined to the Prison of Boniato in Santiago de Cuba, are presently denouncing the following officials from the above-mentioned prison for hostile politics and torture.

-Armando Hernández Lescay, Captain.
-Elio Alberto Avilo Godine, Major.
-Julio Soler Fernández, Chief of Interior Order.

These officials have organized gangs of common prisoners to participate in the beatings of prisoners in order to silence silence the penal population.

An example was a recent cruel beating given by one of these gangs along with members of the prisoner's council, to six political prisoners in Section 13, for the simple reason that these six men called upon the penal population to join them in a hunger strike.
