(GUANTÁNAMO, February 5) - Political prisoners Onni Barzaga Garrido,
from the municipality Manuel Tamez in Guantánamo, and Michel Ayllon Guillén
from Cardenas in Matanzas, both confined to the Prison of Boniato in Santiago
de Cuba, are presently denouncing the following officials from the
above-mentioned prison for hostile politics and torture.
-Armando Hernández Lescay, Captain. -Elio Alberto Avilo Godine,
Major. -Julio Soler Fernández, Chief of Interior Order.
These officials have organized gangs of common prisoners to participate in
the beatings of prisoners in order to silence silence the penal population.
An example was a recent cruel beating given by one of these gangs along with
members of the prisoner's council, to six political prisoners in Section 13, for
the simple reason that these six men called upon the penal population to join
them in a hunger strike.
Reporting from the city of Guantánamo, Ferdinando Castro de
