Government opponent loses license

HAVANA, Dec. 9 (Alicia Zamora Labrada, Lux Info Press / www.cubanet.org) – Jose Angel Ivonne Borrero, an opposition pacifist, has lost his license to be a private photographer.

The Independent Works Confederation said Ivonne Borrero was intercepted on the street in the city of Palma Soriano in Santiago de Cube province by Capt. Amado Novoa of the political police. The photographer had attended a meeting of the opposition Cuba Civic Movement for Democracy.

Novoa, accompanied by two other agents, was said to have seized Ivonne Borrero's camera.

The report of Juan Carlos Cardenas of the Independent Works Confederation said that Ivonne Borrero earlier in the year had been fired from his job at the Palama Photo Service because of his political opposition.
