HAVANA, November 29 (Víctor M. Domínguez, Lux Info Press /
www.cubanet.org) - Twelve civilians working at a Revolutionary Armed Forces Farm
south of Havana were fired under suspicion of trying to steal 15 sacks of feed,
according to Virgilio Marantes, a local resident.
The 12 men tended pigs at the Aleida Fernández farm, near Güines.
The 15 sacks of feed were found just outside the fence.
"We all paid, guilty and not guilty, just because the sacks were found
behind the pig pens," said one of the fired workers.
Marantes said the chief of police for the sector, first lieutenant Justo
Luis, interrogated the 12 men and closed the case for lack of proof, leaving the
matter to the discretion of the farm administration, who chose to fire the
workers.
