Agricultural workers fired for political opinions

HAVANA, August 8 (Alicia Zamora, Lux Info Press) - Two agricultural workers, Juan Francisco Gómez, and Carlos Ramón Amaro, were fired from their jobs after publicly expressing their disapproval of the recent government campaign to enact a constitutional proposal to declare Socialism ‘untouchable’ in Cuba.

Gómez and Amaro worked for Basic Unit No. 6 of the Animal Husbandry Enterprise Hermanos López, in Bayamo, Granma province, in eastern Cuba.

They had been employed for two and four years, respectively.

They were fired during a campaign of "Entrepreneurial Improvement" at the firm.
