HAVANA, April 18 (Amarilis Cortina Rey, Cuba-Verdad) - Cuban dissident
Isabel del Pino, 58, was informed last night that her trial for wanting to
attempt against the life of a Communist Party member, originally set for today,
April 18, had been postponed.
An officer of the Department of State Security who said his name is "Pol"
went to del Pinos residence last night and told her the trial was off. Del
Pino refused to accept the mans verbal statement as official, and a few
minutes later, an officer of the National Police showed up at her house and
handed her a written notice from the tribunal confirming that the trial has been
postponed.
A number of members of several civil resistance movements had planned to
hold a pacifist rally outside the courthouse today. Del Pino is the leader of
the Humanitarian Association Followers of Christ the King.
