PINAR DEL RIO, April 18 (Víctor Rolando Arroyo, UPECI) - A woman who gave birth to a girl on February 17 refuses to leave the hospital, protesting she has no home to take the child to.

Berta Ramos, who lives with her mother and a 14-year-old daughter along with the newborn, says, "My house fell down months ago and the Popular Power (local government) has done nothing to rebuild it or assign me another one."

"I decided not to leave the hospital as a last recourse against the indolence of local officials who haven’t even listened to my petitions," said Ramos.
