Praia, Cape Verde - A delegation of the Cape Verdian National Assembly left Praia Thursday for Havana (Cuba) to attend the 105th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Conference, official sources said Friday.

The 12-man delegation, including members of the majority African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV), is led by its president Aristides Lima.

Participants of the 1 to 9 April conference will discuss the election of the president and vice president of the 105th IPU conference, political, economic and social situation in the world.

They are also expected to discuss the respect and violation of international law, education, culture as well as citizens' participation in politics.

The sources said the Cape Verdians would use the occasion to meet 150 Cape Verdian students pursuing studies in various universities in Cuba.
