Funeral Home Employee Fined For Prostest

SANTA CLARA, VILLA CLARA, April 3 (Isabel Rey, Cuba Press) - A funeral home employee was fined 30 pesos for protesting during a police search of the funeral home here in the early morning hours of April 2.

The police went through the funeral home checking ID and searching all present when Norka Iris Silverio, the attendant at the funeral home's cafeteria, raised her voice, saying that was not the appropiate time nor the place for the police activity.

Silverio, who is pregnant, was immediately taken to the police station and fined. Her husband, Alexis Valdés, was similarly arrested and fined 30 pesos.
