In Spite of Elián, Cubans Still Take To The Rafts

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, March 31 (Luis Alberto Rivera, APLO) - Commentators on State TV acknowledged that in the month of March an average of four children a day were involved in illegal sailings from the island.

Evidently, in spite of the long shadow of uncertainty cast by the Elián affair and the recent publicity as to the dangers involved in the trip, Cubans are still willing to risk their lives, and their children's, in order to leave the island.
