HAVANA, 1 May (BPIC) The Cuban political police have arrested the Vice-president of the Association for the Struggle Against National Injustice, Reynaldo Alfaro García. The opposition activist was arrested the morning of May 1 in his home in Havana.Independent journalists were notified of the arrest by the dissident's mother, Beatriz García, who said that a State Security officer by the name of Marcos and two other agents arrived at their home in the Marianao district at 11:00 A.M. to take her son into custody. As evening fell, Alfaro's whereabouts were still unknown.Security was heightened in Havana on May 1 during festivities for International Workers' Day.
