with Cuba Solid - Culture Minister
Angola
Press.
Luanda, 05/31 - Angola`s minister of Culture,
Boaventura Cardoso, Wednesday in Luanda
considered as solid the relation between
Angola and Cuba in the area of culture and
defended its strengthening.
The minister said so in an exclusive interview
to ANGOP, ahead of Angola`s participation
at the 5th International Congress on Culture
and Development, taking place in Havana
(Cuba), on June 11-14, this year.
The official also said that for the boosting
of bilateral co-operation, he will seize
the occasion in that Caribbean country to
reiterate the invitation made in 2005 to
his Cuban counterpart, to visit Angola in
2008.
This interchange, he added, is more notable
in the domain of artistic training, in which
Cuba has a rich experience, reason why some
Angolan students will next year attend courses
in this field, in the Caribbean country.
Commenting on the country`s participation
in the event, the minister said he will
transmit Angola`s experience, which is of
"a country living in peace, that went
through a painful process, but is now gaining
a new momentum in all sectors, mainly in
the domain of culture".
Boaventura Cardoso considered the meeting
as very important and pertinent, since it
will focus on a crucial matter which is
the cultural dimension of development.
The congress being organised by UNESCO
will gather in the Cuban capital city, Havana,
international experts who will debate about
themes such as "Cultural diversity
in a global world", "Cultural
industries and exchange of technologies",
"Cultural heritage, context and conservation",
"Libraries in the south, for a culture
of peace".
Participants will also visit historical
sites, as well as attend lectures, courses
and round-table meetings.
The Angolan team to the event is due to
leave the country on June 06, and will include
the directors of the juridical and artistic
training offices of the Culture Ministry.
