Boy, 8, hit by speeding police car

through a residential neighborhood hit an
eight-year-old boy January 7 in the Virginia
district of Santa Clara.
The boy, Yuri Daniel González, was
treated for contusions and later released
at the José Luis Miranda pediatric
hospital, said Idania Yanes, a neighbor.
The boy was walking out of his home when
the car hit him, said another neighbor,
who added that police cars frequently go
through the neighborhood at speed. Residents
have complained, he said, but to no avail.
There are no sidewalks in the area.
