Police captain kills a man
HAVANA, Cuba - January 12 (Amarilis C.
Rey, Cuba-Verdad / www.cubanet.org) - A
captain with the National Police shot and
killed a man the morning of December 31,
neighbors said.
The 40-year-old man, known locally as José
the tank truck driver because he drove a
fuel delivery truck, had moved into the
Menocal neighborhood of San José
de las Lajas a few months ago, according
to neighbors. He lived alone in the home
where he was shot.
Neighbors said the officer, who was found
holding his service gun after the shooting,
allowed himself to be disarmed and was arrested.
