Dissident detained by police
PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba,
October 19 (Rafael Ferro Salas, Abdala Press
/ www.cubanet.org) - An official of the
political police arrested Roberto Estrella
Salas, member of the Party of the People,
and returned him home under house arrest
following questioning at police headquarters.
His wife, Idabel Martín Cala, said
the arresting officer gave as a reason for
the detention the fact that her husband
had traveled to the municipal of Viñales
the previous day where he was accused of
carrying out counter-revolutionary activities.
"They're not allowing my husband to
lease the house," she said.
