Jailed independent journalist Oscar Mario González hospitalized

HAVANA, October 14 (Ernesto Roque Cintero, UPECI / www.cubanet.org) - Imprisoned independent journalist Oscar Mario González was confined to the security wing of the military hospital in Havana this week because of his deteriorating mental and physical condition, according to his wife, Mirta Wong.

She said her husband was transferred from prison to the hospital on Tuesday night and that she visited him for 25 minutes the following day.

"Oscar Mario had lost a lot of weight, was very changed and even his memory faltered and he was not coherent in his conversation." she said.
