AIDS medicines scarce in sanatorium in Cuba
HAVANA, Cuba - May 3 (Richard Roselló
/ www.cubanet.org) - The irregularity and
delay in distribution of medicines for AIDS
patients in the Aguas Claras sanatorium,
in Holguín province, are jeopardizing
the lives of dozens of patients, said Arnaldo
Pino, one of those affected.
Pino, who has been a patient at the sanatorium,
said the delays extend back four months,
especially in the distribution of a very
important medicine for those who are HIV
positive.
"Since January they haven't given
out vaccines, and our complaints are not
heard," said Pino, one of about 40
patients at the sanatorium which houses
patients from the provinces of Las Tunas
and Holguín, in eastern Cuba.
