CUBA Cuban police beat up pedicab driver SANTIAGO DE CUBA,
Cuba, January 21 (Roberto García Cabrejas, APLO / www.cubanet.org) - Police
in Baracoa beat up a 28-year-old pedicab driver during a routine traffic stop,
said bystanders. Police said they stopped Wilder Lores Zanamé to
check whether he had been drinking during the year-end festivities. Then, police
told Zanamé's wife, he resisted arrest, so he had to be subdued by force. Eyewitnesses
said police beat Zanamé from the get go, sending him to the hospital. Now
