More Cuban physicians to be sent to Venezuela

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, September 10 (Cubanacán Press / www.cubanet.org) - The municipal director of the Health department for Santa Clara, Dr. Regla Angulo, announced Friday that Villa Clara province must come up with an additional 100 physicians to send to Venezuela. The capital city of Santa Clara, itself, must come up with 20.

The city health department must also come up with five doctors that will go to Havana to assist with the care of Venezuelan health tourists.

As of last May, there were 320 primary care physicians to care for Santa Clara's 250,000 residents.

Some sixth year students are being pressed into service to cover empty dispensaries.
