(GUANTÁNAMO, Cuba, April 25 / Puenteinfocubamiami.org)
- Alberto Martínez Fernández,
president of the club of Prisoners and Former
Political Prisoners in Guantánamo
and promoter of the Varela Project, gave
an exclusive telephone interview to Agenda
Cuba, last Sunday, April 25, in their radio
program at WQBA 1140, to among other things,
reveal to the world a message given to him
by a group of the 75 peaceful oppositionists
tried summarily by the Castro regime in
2003.
First I want to give the following message
to the World given from the bars of the
prison cells at Combinado de Guantánamo
by a group of the 75 prisoners of conscience
unjustly tried summarily by the Castro regime
in 2003, and it reads as follows:
"Brothers, we received with great
enthusiasm and love, the news of the condemnation
to Fidel Castro's regime in Geneva, and
we thank our brothers in the diaspora for
their solidarity, support and work, so that
our voices are heard at important forums
like that of Geneva. Thank you, thank you
very much.
"These news are also a source of fortitude
and gives us more strength to continue fighting
this battle that seems that it won't culminate
for the time being, but we will continue
firm, fighting inside and outside the Cuban
prisons for a new dawn for our people, for
the right to the rights of the Cuban people".
