HAVANA, October 20 (Gilberto Figueredo e Israel Picallo, APLC) Police
are guarding the offices of the Popular Power (local government) in the Havana
municipality of Arroyo Naranjo after residents threatened to disrupt the
facility.
Reportedly, the residents' frustration stems from the local officials'
inability to address the lack of municipal services. The problems were
aggravated in past weeks by steady rains that caused flooding in the area.
Dozens of families suffered losses as a result of the floods and are seeking
relief.
