HAVANA, September 27 (Alida Viso Bello) - Residents of Manzanillo, in
eastern Granma province, are still commenting with wonderment a recent incident
in which about thirty members of a Committee for the Defense of the Revolution
(CDR) came to the aid of a dissident who was attacked by a stranger.
José Antonio Rebustillo, 26, was walking home on Saturday, September
23 when a stranger approached him and asked him where he lived. When Rebustillo
answered, the stranger said "Then it's you" and pummeled him around
the right eye and arm. At that point, more than 30 members of CDR #14 who saw
the attack came to his rescue.
