HAVANA, January 31 (Ohalis Víctore, Cuba Voz) - Migdalia Rosado Hernández, one of the directors of the dissident organization Tamarindo 34 Human Rights, and Dr. Oscar Elías Biscet, the leader of the Lawton Foundation for Human Rights, will face charges of disorderly conduct.
The trial date has not been set yet, but Rosado has a copy of the prosecutor's charges, which were delivered to a neighbor January 29. She must now appoint an attorney, but she hasn't the money to do so.
The charges against Rosado and Biscet have been filed with the Penal Tribunal as case 18 of 2000, and now wait for the court to set a trial date. The prosecuting attorney is asking for two years in jail and a 1500 peso fine for Rosado. The facts: demonstrating against abortion in front of a
hospital in Havana.
